Companion Play

Companion Play is gameplay enriched by external AI companionship: a player uses GPT, Grok or another AI system to observe screenshots, interpret progress, remember context, discuss decisions and help continue an experience across sessions.

The AI does not play the game. The player plays. The AI helps the experience persist.

Companion Play does not require a dedicated product or platform. A screenshot and an AI chat can be enough.

The category now also has a working reference implementation: the Companion Play plugin saves the useful thread of a gaming conversation and loads it again in a later chat.
